Impressions are on the up

First port of call is to look at Google Trends, to see if this is just a general increase in people searching for your keywords / keyphrases on Google. You can localise results by territory...

Hi,

I have noticed a major trend in one of the Google Adwords accounts I manage.
I don't understand why and wondered if someone could suggest what might be happening or maybe there are others who would like to share their experiences.

The adwords account is UK Search only.
Since January I have seen a decline in CTR, and an increase in Impressions.
By the end of April, impression are over double that of the previous year, and CTR is less than half of the previous year. Our position will have been similar both years (normally position 1)

The figures have been taken direct from Google Adwords, and I've asked our Google Adwords account manage about this, who only seems to be able to suggest we make our ads more relevant. Our ads are as relevant as they need to be in my opinion, no significant changes have been made to the account this year.

Any comments or thoughts are appreciated
